A Special Concert to celebrate The Alma Singers' 40th Anniversary

 

On June 15, 2018 a special concert entitled "The Nature of a Choir" was held at the Avenue Methodist Church also during Sale Festival. The concert featured Ian MacMillan, the "Barnsley Bard", who is a poet, writer & broadcaster. Ian chairs Radio 3's The Verb - an arts programme. Luke Carver Goss is a very versatile musician, composer & performer, who wrote music for the London 2012 Olympics. The choir commissioned Ian McMillan and Luke Carver Goss to write a song to celebrate the choir's 40 years of singing together.  The song, The Nature of A Choir has now been recorded .

• May 10th: A Spring Concert, "An Evening with the Alma Singers", at Altrincham Methodist Church, Barrington Rd, Altrincham WA14 1HF.

 

• July 5th: A Summer Concert to support CRUK at the Avenue Methodist Church, Wincham Road, Sale M33 4PL .

 

• July 9th: Choir Dinner, Boathouse, Sale Water Park, Rifle Road, Sale M33 2LX.

• December 8th, Newhaven Assisted Living, Tulip Drive Timperley, short concert for the residents, commencing at 3.00 pm.

• December 13th, Alma Singers Annual Concert entitled Christmas & All That Jazz, URC, Whitefield Road, Sale M33 6NZ, commencing at 7.30 pm.
