The Alma Singers Musical Director - Margaret Curzon

Margaret enjoys a dual musical career both as a choral director and soprano soloist. She is a freelance Advanced Skills Music Teacher, working with primary schools in Salford and Trafford, and specialises in vocal technique and performance.

She directs four children’s choirs and has performed with them at many prestigious venues in the North West, including Manchester Cathedral, the Bridgewater Hall and RNCM. Margaret has appeared at Llangollen International Eisteddfod as a choir member, soloist and choral director.

She has also sung at many varied functions and venues, as a soloist, with choirs, as a recitalist and in stage roles in operetta and opera. These include appearances at Gawsworth Hall Summer Theatre and an invitation from the St. David’s Society of Portugal to sing at their annual celebrations in Lisbon. She currently studies singing with the soprano Sandra Dugdale, of the RNCM.

Margaret is delighted to be working with Alma Singers and looks forward to many happy and enjoyable future concerts with them.

Cllr Jane Baugh, the first Honorary President

The Alma Singers are extremely pleased that Cllr Jane Baugh, Mayor of Trafford for 2011-2012, has agreed to become the first honorary president of the Alma Singers. Jane has been very supportive of the choir for several years in attending choir engagements and in organising a mayoral charity concert in December 2011, in which the Alma Singers took part.
